High Street Shopping

High Street Shopping, oil on canvas, 8"x10". For sale on etsy.

When I lived in England it took me a number of weeks, maybe even a month or so to understand what a 'High Street' was. In North America, we refer to a high street, as basically a main street, but even then I don't feel it quite explains the same thing. It's hard to explain, and I'm blabbering on. It also took me quite a while to understand what a stone was (in terms of weight) or a fortnight, or the idea of standing in a queue. For a long time I thought that people in England made the shape of Q when lining up for a bus. That was a real headscratcher.
Of course, I never said I was intelligent.

I'm working on a larger painting right now 16"x20" which likely won't be ready until Saturday, so please check back then for the next original.

Next Painting On Tuesday

I know I mentioned that I will post today at 6pm but I'll have to postpone the next original until Tuesday. It's turning out to be a hectic extended weekend with friends arriving, and birthday parties and craziness, so I'll be taking the next few days off to get everything done. Summertime is always extra busy it seems. Anyway, I do have plenty of prints available in my etsy shop so if you need a fix you know where to go!
